| Munson, Ed InstructorEducationMBA 2000, Idaho State University Professional ExperienceIn my instruction capacities at ISU I have modified course structure to include an introduction to information security the beginning level courses. This topic, as important as it is, is often neglected in entry-level textbooks. I have chosen to broaden the perspective in our entry-level courses because it is offered as a cross-discipline class. It gives students from each college, where this course is required, and an overview of their role in information security. In the five previous years I have managed the imaging and document management portion of the Bannock County Computer Services Department. I have instituted an imaging system and put into place a network to convert all physical documents and records into magnetic media for the information system. This is a countywide project, which includes all aspects from design and procurement to system and security management and operation. I have most departments within the County under my direction or control with respect to the network there. The system consists of approximately 250 current users, with the remaining 200 to be added in the near future. CURRENT PROJECTS:I am currently working on a research project which I hope to publish on the US Infrastructure, risk models, and mitigation and safeguard strategies. I am working on developing the web site security.isu.edu for the Vietnamese language. I am also in the last stages of completing a fully searchable online database of information security related terms and phrases, which will also be published on our site |
