Scholarship for Service at Idaho State University

Selection Process and Deadlines

A panel NIATEC faculty and the advisory committee of National Information Assurance Training and Education Center (NIATEC) will review all applications and interview likely candidates, either in person or by telephone.

The selection process will end when the panel selects the students to be admitted on the basis of application data and the interview. During this selection process, the students’ interests, goals, and requests will be used to match each scholarship student with an appropriate faculty mentor. Each student will be included in a research project during their first semester of support. Final approval of accepted applicants must be certified by the OPM.

Spring 2010: Applications for candidates who wish to begin the SFS program in January 2010 will be accepted until November 15, 2009 or until the cohort is full. The SFS panel will make award decisions by the end of December 2009. Students will be notified of scholarship awards soon thereafter. Spring semester classes begin in January 2010. Although we have a published deadline, we will review applications and make acceptance decisions on a continuous basis.

Fall 2010: Applications for candidates who wish to begin the SFS program in August 2010 will be accepted until May 15, 2010 or until the cohort is full. The SFS panel will make award decisions by the end of May 2010. Students will be notified of scholarship awards soon thereafter. Fall semester classes begin in August 2010. Although we have a published deadline, we will review applications and make acceptance decisions on a continuous basis.
